Knicks GM: We didn’t fix flaws with trade

Donnie Walsh isn’t happy, either, Knicks fans. [Walsh], responding to the Knicks‘ epic collapse since The Trade, told The Post [Sunday] the club’s travails have confirmed to him how flawed his roster still is, and how badly the team needs to add big men in the future…
Duke’s Irving to get significant time vs. Arizona

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski says point guard Kyrie Irving will play “significant minutes” in the West regional semifinal against Arizona.
Speaking before boarding a bus to the airport, Krzyzewski said Irving would not start Thursday night in Anaheim, Calif., but is ahead of schedule in his return from a toe injury that cost him most of his freshman season.
Irving missed 31/2 months with an injured right big toe but came off the bench in both of the top-seeded Blue Devils’ NCAA tournament games. He scored 14 points in 20 minutes in his return against Hampton. He had 11 points in 21 minutes against Michigan and was on the court at the end of that win.
Krzyzewski says the Blue Devils (32-4) are “good with who we’re starting.”

Knicks believe they’ll get it right by playoffs – AP

The Knicks envisioned themselves as a dangerous team after trading for Carmelo Anthony a month ago. Instead, they’re two games under .500 since the deal.
And the more time they spend together, the worse they’ve played.
Anthony and Amare Stoudemire are the NBA’s second-highest scoring duo. Yet this team has had three straight subpar offensive games, and offense is supposed to be New York’s strong suit. Anthony says these struggles aren’t a surprise, and he believes there is time for the Knicks to get past them.
The Knicks once talked of moving up to the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference. Now, they’ve fallen behind Philadelphia into seventh after holding the No. 6 spot for more than three months.

NY Jets’ Edwards due in court Monday in DWI case – AP

New York Jets star wide receiver Braylon Edwards is due to get an answer to his bid to get his drunken-driving case tossed out.
Edwards has a court date Monday for a Manhattan judge’s decision.
Edwards was already on probation from a dust-up in Cleveland when New York police said they pulled him over in September because his luxury SUV’s windows were too dark. Officers said his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
He denies driving drunk. He’s challenging the basis for stopping him, the reliability of the test and other aspects of the case.
Prosecutors say his arrest was lawful, the test was fine and there’s enough evidence to support the charges. The most serious is a misdemeanor.
