QB Young in good shape during workout for Bills
Buffalo Bills receiver David Nelson describes free agent quarterback Vince Young as looking in great shape during his workout for the team.
What’s unclear is what the Bills think about Young and whether he fits in their plans. The Bills and the player’s representatives provided no update after Young met with coaches and held an on-field workout at the team’s facility Wednesday.
Nelson was one of four Bills receivers to run routes and catch passes during Young’s session. He said the sixth-year NFL player “looked good,” and it was evident he’s been working hard this offseason to stay in shape.
The visit was Young’s first this offseason in a bid to find a new team. Young was not re-signed by the Philadelphia Eagles after completing a one-year contract.

Teixeira ends relationship with Boras

Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has ended his relationship with longtime agent Scott Boras.
Teixeira made the announcement before Wednesday’s spring training game against Houston.
Boras negotiated Teixeira’s eight-year free-agent contract with the Yankees that runs through the 2016 season.
Teixeira says he had a great relationship business wise with Boras, but that after 12 years together sometimes it’s time to make a little bit of a change. He has not yet selected a new agent.
Teixeira’s off-field charity work was not handled by Boras’ group.

Yankees make 1st formal offer to Cliff Lee – AP

The New York Yankees have made their first formal contract offer to Cliff Lee. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman says the team presented a proposal. He didn’t say how much it was worth or for how many years.
Lee’s agent, Darek Braunecker, was at the site of baseball’s winter meetings on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers and Yankees have been considered the leading candidates to land Lee, the prize pitcher in the free-agent market.

Haslem’s season may be over, Heat turn to Dampier – AP

Heat forward Udonis Haslem may miss the remainder of the regular season after having surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left foot, and free agent Erick Dampier has been signed to help fill the void that creates.
Haslem had surgery Tuesday, the same day Dampier took a physical with the Heat — the last hurdle before a contract could be signed. Dampier practiced with the Heat that afternoon.
Haslem ruptured the Lisfranc ligament in his foot, which connects arch bones to the ones leading to his toes. His recovery could take more than four months.
The Heat may consider applying for an injury exception if the determination is that Haslem’s season is over.
Dampier worked out in September for Miami, which decided at that time not to offer a contract to the 35-year-old.

Agent: Chris Duhon leaving New York Knicks to sign with Orlando Magic – ESPN New York
Agent: Chris Duhon leaving New York Knicks to sign with Orlando Magic – ESPN New York.
Free agent point guard Chris Duhon has decided to join the Orlando Magic. Most likely, Duhon will back up All-Star point guard Jameer Nelson. Duhon should succeed in the role of backup with the Magic, because he sure stunk it up as a starter in New York.
